THE MISSION OF THE MUSIC BOOSTERS IS TO PROVIDE ORGANIZATIONAL AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THE PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAM IN GRADES 5 THROUGH 12 AT JONATHAN ALDER

HADESTOWN: Teen Edition

Hadestown tells a version of the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.  Eurydice, a young girl looking for something to eat, goes to work in an industrial version of the Greek underworld to escape poverty and the cold, and her poor singer-songwriter lover Orpheus comes to rescue her.

Jonathan Alder is so delighted and thankful that our theater program has been tasked with performing this award-winning show. Please join us for a night of music, dance, and the oldest Greek myth as Jonathan Alder's own Broadway in the Cornfield makes history with their 2025 show: HADESTOWN.

Jonathan Alder is a participant in the CAPA Marquee Awards and this year, will be competing for the first time in the program

Scholarship info:

The Jonathan Alder Music Boosters give 6  $500 scholarships to seniors every year. We give 3 to choir students and 3 to band students. Every Senior who has been in band or choir for two years, including their Senior year,  is eligible to apply for a scholarship.

The scholarship committee collects the applications and essays. The essays are then given to individuals who are not in our community and not connected in any way to Jonathan Alder. They go through several readings before being selected as the scholarship winners.

Donations to support the Music Boosters' efforts are accepted at any time.  All donations go directly to our performing arts students at Jonathan Alder Schools.
